As a writer, you will help with the writing of screenplay material from established theoretical storylines and roughs. To this end, there will not necessarily be a creative cycle in developing new material, but rather an effort to complete a story from a rough draft into a final marketable piece, as known in the industry today.

It is not a requirement, but any past screenplays / examples of work you've created will be a plus if exhibited.

Key Skills:

  • Thoroughly understand the three-act structure in modern screenwriting
  • Understand plot points and how they intermingle between the exposition, rising action, and resolution
  • Understand the use of Final Draft or CeltX as writing tools
  • Using the writing tools, understand script elements including: scene heading, action, character name, dialogue, parenthetical, extensions, transition and shot
  • Knowledge of PC / Mac basics

Desirable Qualifications:

  • High school graduate
  • Ability to adapt existing ideas rather than changing them
  • Ability to compromise with other writing styles as found in the roughs

As a marketing agent, you will perform routine tasks quickly and effectively. These tasks include making calls / sending e-mail to contacts on assigned lists with film proposal information that will be supplied to you, as well as following up with receptive leads and forwarding appropriate contacts to the supervisor at the next stage of interest. The amount of work given will be fairly distributed so that ample time is allowed for the job.

It is not a requirement, but any showreels or examples of work you've created will be a plus if exhibited.

A concept artist is needed to help pre-visualize various creature characters. The concepts will be individual, detailed orthogonal versions of creature concepts and will not involve environments or multiple figures.

In the best case, you will have a showreel that demonstrates a significant original work of concept art that was eventually processed into a fully completed 3d design complemented with a carefully crafted texture set.

Key Skills:

  • Photoshop
  • Thoroughly understand composition, balance, positive and negative space, lighting, anatomy, form, and silhouette
  • Understand the creation and importance of orthogonal concept sketches (front, side, top views)
  • Understand color theory including complementary and analogous colors
  • Understand light and how it interacts with the colors mapped on 3D objects, including specular and diffuse light
  • Understand Photoshop mattes, layer masks, brushes, healing, blend modes, and adjustment layers including levels/curves/hue and saturation, including all other general aspects

Gothic Serpent is looking for a 3D texture artist capable of creating textures for 3d objects and then mapping them using UV coordinates. For this position, it's not necessary to have all of the key skills listed below, but your level of skill will reflect your wage.

Ideally you will have a showreel that demonstrates keen knowledge of texturing, and worked on at least one feature, a significant item of broadcast, or significant personal project.

Key Skills:

  • Photoshop, ZBrush, 3ds Max, 3DCoat
  • Thoroughly understand the 3ds Max Unwrap UVW Modifier and UV unfolding
  • Understand Photoshop mattes, layer masks, brushes, healing, blend modes, and adjustment layers including levels/curves/hue and saturation, including all other general aspects
  • Understand how to use reference images to create your own textures
  • Understand UV Coordinates and how to create a proper UV layout
  • Understand ZBrush Polypaint, Alphas, Textures and percentage blended 3D Layers
  • Understand 3DCoat importing reference meshes / exporting retopologized mesh
  • Understand 3DCoat paint room (painting colors) / retopology room (marking seams)
  • Understand ZBrush mesh projection (using projectall onto retopologized mesh)
  • Understand / create diffuse, normal, and displacement maps in ZBrush

Ideally you will have a showreel that demonstrates keen knowledge of the hard surface modeling, and worked on at least one feature, a significant item of broadcast, or significant original personal project.

There is a need for a particle effects designer to work on upcoming projects, particularly in that of fluid dynamics.

  • Understand fundamental particle theory including particle emitters, particle lifespan / spawn rate, and particle color / shape attributes

This is a special offering to learn new things and try various experiments with the company during its growth cycle on a voluntary, opt-in basis in exchange for company equity. This is a technical offering and a broad skill set and desire for research will be required for consideration.

A requirement is that strict non-disclosure be maintained for all research projects, with the exception of any research work done for personal projects that do not relate to the organization in any way.
