Horticulturalist (flat rate per item sold) Gothic Serpent Financial Compensation Policy

There is a need for help with plant cultivation and management for assets which may be sold online.

In the best case, you will have tended to plants in other gardens, preferably professionally owned or operated. You will have experience with cultivating your own plants, including exotic plants and tropical plants. You will be aware of hydroponics and understand the ideologies behind hydroponic cultivation and its benefits against traditional arable cultivation.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of arable (soil) gardening and agriculture
  • Knowledge of hydroponics and automated watering systems
  • Knowledge of basic growing mediums such as rockwool, expanded clay pellets, foam, cloning collars, coco coir/peat, perlite, peat
  • Knowledge of grow lights including L.E.D., High Pressure Sodium, Fluorescent tube, Metal Halide
  • Knowledge of wet and dry synthetic fertilizers
  • Knowledge of E.C. (electrical conducitivity) measurements, P.H. measurements
  • Knowledge of plant propagation (from both cuttings as well as sowing of runners)
  • Ability to handle large drums (usually empty) when transporting water to gardens via a pump
  • Ability to use a pump to transport large amounts of water from a drum to a reservoir or from a reservoir to an sewer drain for disposal
  • Knowledge of pest management including hydrogen peroxide, spinosad, neem oil, pyrethrins, beneficial insects / nematodes
  • Knowledge of system maintenance including cleaning and flushing with bleach and isopropyl alcohol

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with nutrient film technique (NFT), kratky, floating raft, wicking bed, top drip, flood and drain, vertical hydroponics / vertical hydroponic farming and cultivation
  • Experience with aeroponics (high and low pressure) including air pumps / air stones
  • Experience with grow tents, including ducting and air intake fans
  • Experience with aquaponics
  • Experience with P.A.R. meter measurements for light and an understanding of PPFD
  • Experience with tissue culture / micropropagation is very coveted

Desirable Experience:

  • At least one year prior experience in a similar role (can be hobbyist at home)
  • Prior experience in / knowledge of the horticulture industry or big agriculture industry

There is a need for an environment designer to work environments for upcoming projects, particularly space simulation games.

In the best case, you will have a showreel that demonstrates a significant original work or be actively working on a space game such a 6 degree of freedom title, or a sci-fi themed game involving space ships.

Key Skills:

  • Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of some 3d program like Blender, 3ds Max or Maya, and understanding of importing assets created there to Unreal
  • Understand Unreal Engine UI / fundamentals
  • Understand themes of design and lighting to coordinate environments
  • Thoroughly understand Unreal Static Meshes and how to link code to blueprints created from them for any entity, such as a weapon powerup or space ship with attributes like health and fuel
  • Thoroughly understand Unreal Engine blueprints, Unreal UMG, Unreal Marketplace assets, Epic Games Launcher pipeline to import assets from the marketplace

In the best case, you will have a showreel that demonstrates a significant original work or be actively working on a space game such a 6 degree of freedom title, or a sci-fi themed game involving space ships.

In the best case, you will have a showreel that demonstrates a significant original work or be actively working on a Unity platformer/roguelike pixel-based games.

Concept Artist (flat rate per project) Gothic Serpent Financial Compensation Policy

A concept artist is needed to help pre-visualize various creature characters. The concepts will be individual, detailed orthogonal versions of creature concepts and will not involve environments or multiple figures.

In the best case, you will have a showreel that demonstrates a significant original work of concept art that was eventually processed into a fully completed 3d design complemented with a carefully crafted texture set.

Key Skills:

  • Photoshop
  • Thoroughly understand composition, balance, positive and negative space, lighting, anatomy, form, and silhouette
  • Understand the creation and importance of orthogonal concept sketches (front, side, top views)
  • Understand color theory including complementary and analogous colors
  • Understand light and how it interacts with the colors mapped on 3D objects, including specular and diffuse light
  • Understand Photoshop mattes, layer masks, brushes, healing, blend modes, and adjustment layers including levels/curves/hue and saturation, including all other general aspects

Researcher (company equity as payment)

This is a special offering to learn new things and try various experiments with the company during its growth cycle on a voluntary, opt-in basis in exchange for company equity. This is a technical offering and a broad skill set and desire for research will be required for consideration.

A requirement is that strict non-disclosure be maintained for all research projects, with the exception of any research work done for personal projects that do not relate to the organization in any way.
